Faith was a girl that led a fairly normal life in a fairly normal place. Her parents were two knights of the House Franel, and raised and reared their daughter to always honor and obey her liege lords, to have respect for nobility, to be honest and just and practice moderation in all things.

Some of these teachings took hold. Faith began her training to become a knight once she was twelve, and carried on, rising steadily in the ranks of Franel's guard as the years passed. She held a great deal of respect for her lords and nobility, and did her best to follow the chivalrous ideals which her parents had passed down to her.

Of course, for every idea that took hold, another one fell through the cracks. Faith seemed to have little interest in propriety or moderation, and took up alcohol fairly soon after she began her training. She took to gambling, betting, and singing loud, bawdy songs in taverns, having to be dragged off to bed at last after she would drink herself into a stupor.

For all the little sense it made, Faith's ascension through the ranks of the soldiers continued. She was remarkably young for her standing, and remarkably reckless as well. The setbacks were few enough that she rose to her rank, a full-fledged knight by 20, and a paladin and one of the most-respected soldiers in Franel by 24. Her reputation preceded her wherever she went, and she was constantly met by underestimations about her ability or her dedication. Regardless, she overcame every one of the shortcomings that people believed she had, and began to grow closer to the lords themselves – Lord Roivas, Lady Eria, and their three children, Lawrence, Kail, and Celeste.

It was in the midst of one spring, nearly summer, when she awoke to find herself somewhere that was not the knights' quarters in Franel. Her sword was by her side, however, and there was no reason for her to believe she'd been kidnapped. It turned out that she was in an inn in the small Atsirian town of Ilserna – a continent away from Franel – and the innkeep assured her that she'd paid her dues in full the night before. He, along with others in the inn, said that she was a fairly frequent visitor to the area, which only served to puzzle Faith more. She took to her favorite pastime – drowning her wonders in alcohol – and tried to mull over the situation she'd found herself in.

As the months passed, she found herself traveling more than she ever had before – from the Atsirian capital of Razen to the City of Light, Lucre, in the midst of Megam. She made it home, only to find that it was abandoned and possibly no more than an illusion. Norey, Eblar, Papan; she's traveled more than she ever dreamed she would be able.

And the more she traveled, the more she found herself just wanting to be home.
